Major factors that can lead to unhappiness in children includes

  • Mismanaged Divorces
  • Depressed Parents
  • Children Who Feel Like Failures
  • Peer Rejection and Cruelty
  • Fighting Parents
  • Parental Favouritism
  • Stepfamilies
  • Sibling Abuse
  • An Angry Parent
  • Permissive Parenting

Unhappy children have a greatly increased likelihood of becoming unhappy adults.

If you recognize that your child is unhappy and you can identify the cause to be as a result of one or more of the above factors you can find ways to help them to understand and express themselves. This will serve to enable them to gain insight into and mastery over their confusion and emotional distress. Research is increasingly providing evidence that early intervention counselling provides a greater capacity for children to develop resilience against the later onset of significant anxiety symptoms and possible depression.
